Thanks for All of Your Feedback, Keep It Coming!

This is a bit of a filler post, so I apologize in advance. It’s been a busy week here at Miles for Family (post-wise). Not to mention, I have a household to run, dinners to burn, yada yada yada.

But I just wanted to thank you all for your support, emails and comments on the blog. I know it takes time out of your day to give feedback, and I genuinely appreciate it. When I ask for  advice, I really want to hear what you have to say. Please, keep it coming!

I’ve recently read a quote from a famous music producer, and  this was his take on prima donnas: “When the poop gets bigger than the cat, out goes the cat.” Only, he  didn’t actually use the word “poop.” But I think it applies to bloggers and their egos. I don’t want my site to be the cat that gets thrown out, aka deleted from Feedly etc.

My humor and style are *ahem* unique and not everyone’s cup of tea. I hope you can overlook the “weird” and are able to extract some value from my rants.  The goal is to start a conversation without personally offending anyone. Sometimes I attack ideas, never individuals. I have no beef with anyone, and I truly mean it.

I do feel like this blog is a community effort, and I learn every day from you guys. Many of you would do a better job at it, I’m sure! Especially in the IT department. I’ve mentioned it before, but if someone would like to contribute a trip report, I will be happy to feature it. Even if it is about Hyatt Vendome or Maldives. Bring it!

Anyway, I wanted to quote some comments on my post Fail in trying to convert Citi Premier Card to Citi Thank You Preferred

I asked for advice on what to do with my Citi Thank You points, and you gave it to me. Here we go:

How about using the points to book travel through Citi, and book a luxury hotel for your upcoming Alaska cruise trip? Something fancy schmancy in Seattle. Or, you could cross the border to Vancouver for a few nights and explore that area before or after your cruise” I’m too cheap for fancy schmancy!

“I vote Maui, but you probably knew I would say that.” (My cousin-in-law)

“Take the money and run!” Short and to the point.

Transfer to Flying Blue! Plenty of interesting redemption options, including 50k to Israel roundtrip.” True, this program offers great value at the moment. In case you’ve missed it, check out this outstanding post on Travel is Free.

I still don’t know what I’m going to do, but your comments gave me a lot to think about. It’s nice to see such a variety of opinions. Just shows that every reader is a unique snowflake! I mean it as a compliment.
